Bio
Michael Hanson has over 25 years of experience in the financial services, entrepreneurial ecosystem, and business advisory sectors, holding positions in B2B sales and relationship management, business development, management consulting, and program management, helping business leaders achieve growth results.
Michael is a startup and business growth strategy consultant at Optimum Dynamics LLC, a management consultancy that advises leaders of startup and established businesses, how to launch and scale-up effectively, evolve their business growth strategy, solve growth challenges, create and deliver value in new ways, improve financial results for the organization, and expand their impact.
He was part of the team that launched and scaled-up the ACTION Innovation Network, an association of technology business incubators that supports and promotes the success of startup incubators and the entrepreneurial ecosystem. As the Program Manager, Michael has helped develop and contribute to several organizational development and growth objectives, including fundraising, establishing new member, sponsor, and partner relationships, events, leading working groups to achieve fundraising, marketing, and new member goals, and managing the startup referral program.
Michael also contributes his expertise as an advisor to startups, and to several innovation and entrepreneurship organizations. He is a member of the French-American Biotech Springboard, which guides French biotech startup companies in their expansion to the U.S. market. He is a mentor with the Founder Institute accelerator, and has also served as a mentor with MIT Hacking Medicine, the New Technology Ventures Accelerator (NETVA), and as a judge for Northeastern University’s annual Research, Innovation, Scholarship, Entrepreneurship (RISE) Expo.
He previously held several institutional sales and relationship management positions in the financial services industry, developing relationships with investment advisory firms. He holds a B.A. Economics from Bucknell University.

My experience includes positions in financial services institutional sales, relationship management, program management, business development, and management consulting. In my roles as an advisor, mentor, and startup pitch judge with several entrepreneurship support organizations, I have developed an understanding of the challenges and drivers of startup success.
Through this experience, I have developed a solutions-focused and analytical skill set, and expertise in helping businesses across a wide range of industry sectors grow. I continuously research successful growth strategies, leading edge technology innovations, business model innovations, and emerging marketplace dynamics, across a spectrum of industry sectors. Through this continual research process, I build a knowledge-base of successful growth strategies and how they are best applied.
Recognizing that a variety of viewpoints and experience leads to better solutions, I continuously seek out opportunities for multi-disciplinary learning and professional development across a spectrum of business functions and industry sectors.
